Love your pet but not the mess? Here are our top pet cleaning tips
Here in Canada, we are a nation of pet lovers. Whether it is dogs, cats, hamsters or anything else that takes our fancy, we welcome pets into our lives and our homes.
Whilst there are many positives to having a pet of some sort, there is one main negative. They make a mess. Of course, the amount of mess will depend on the pet you have, but one thing is for sure, if they do make one, you will be the one to clean it up.
Love your pets but not the mess that they leave behind? Here are some of our best pet cleaning tips for you to try out for yourself.
Clean fur up with duct tape
You will notice when you own a pet that there are always fancy gadgets out there that are designed to make taking care of them more accessible. This is excellent news, and some of them can prove to be hugely helpful; but more often than not, there is a cheaper alternative out there.
Take hair and fur removal, for example. There are many tools, tricks and techniques that are supposed to help you. However, a simple sponge or cloth wrapped in duct tape may be the best way to remove hair from your furniture without damaging it.
Aim for enzyme products
If you have to face the horror of a stinky house thanks to your pet, then you are going to want to find ways to cut down on these smells and keep your home smelling fresh. Enzyme based products are what you are looking for here. They release bacteria into the air and onto surfaces which will eat any organic matter that is hanging around (causing a smell). Once they have done this, and with no food left for them, they will die, and you will be left with a clean and fresh-smelling home.
Line your litter tray with a bag
Cleaning out a litter tray is no fun, and it can be a messy job too. This means that it makes sense to try and simplify (and clean up) the litter removal process. One great tip that we have seen be used by many cat owners is lining your litter tray with a bag.
Not only does this stop the tray itself from getting dirty (and then needing cleaning), but it also means that you can simply grab the bag out of the litter tray, tie it up and then you are good to go. Helpful in a variety of ways.
